HOT vegemite and toast for breakfast. Yummy!!! It was good. I’m sure it’s great on crackers and cheese.

I went to work with Eric!!! I got to meet Sue first and then everyone else. Steve gave me a big hug and a kiss. lotsa hugs from all the ladies. I got to show off the engagement ring!! :o)

When we went to Eric’s classroom, everyone told about what they had been doing. Ben was first coz he had been on holiday to Queensland to see rels that have a tropical fish farm. He told about the motorbike that was outta petrol, it was HARD to start!!! I showed the boys my American money. Dallas asked if Mr. Drabwell and I were really getting married and then if that was REAL gold on my ring!! hehehe It BETTER BE!!!!!!! Ben asked what kinda sport I liked........Football. Oh, that Wussy football where they wear all the armor!!! hehehe Yep, that’s the one!! Matthew showed me the Matchbox cars website and colored a truck I designed for me.

Jenny took me to Liz’s Intensive Reading class. I got to listen to two students read, which was really nice. And Liz said come back anytime.

We had a Pizza party for Alex because it was his last day. The boys all said nice things about him. Pizza was pineapple and ham. It was good. I gave the boys some Hi-C gummy fruits. Then we went to Eric’s room and I watched them play on the computers after a game of Uno. My mate, Matthew, took his time to color my picture for me.

When the boys left. Eric and I went to KFC and grabbed a chicken sandwich and some nuggets which we ate in a little park. Then we went to visit the schools.

After that it was time to go meet Nanna. Nanna was all dressed up and looked really nice. We went to do her banking. While Eric went to the bank. Nanna and I sat in a coffee shop and talked.

We went to Pete’s where I tried my first Aussie beer. It was a Toohey’s Extra Dry. It was good. We ate leftover chicken in plum sauce. And watched a video of Australia.

When Eric got in from work, he told me we were going to a surprise place. He took me to Waratah Park aka Skippy Park!!!! It was great. I got to see parrots, dingos, peacocks, wallabies, wombats, emus, kangaroos, koalas and a Tasmanian devil.

We got to feed the kangaroos and walk around with them. They were so soft!!!! You could pet them all over, head, tail, or back, it didn’t matter. The joeys would climb in their Mom’s pouches and their feet or tails or heads would hang out. It looked so funny!!!! The roos got a little aggressive toward the bag of food, so you had to keep it outta reach!! One roo hopped all the way across the field and right up to my feet so he got lotsa food!!! Some of the roos were hacb!!! hehehe And all of them liked to have their necks rubbed or scratched.

Next we went to see the koalas. There were 3 babies in the first enclosure and they were soooooooo cute!!!!! We then went to the koala petting enclosure where their were several adult and baby koalas. They were so cute!! They felt real wooly like a sheep, but the hair was a little coarser than sheep. The babies were softer than the adults. When we finished there, we walked on through and even saw a red-necked wallaby, but it wouldn’t come to me, even when I offered it Budlight!!! I had a fabulous time at Skippy Park!!!!!!!

We went to Pam’s that night for supper. Katie played some guitar for us. And we had a great visit with lotsa laughs!!!! Pam put out some apple pieces to attract possums. And it worked!!!! I got to pet a wild possum. He even posed with a few friends for some pix!! We had a wonderful meal. Veal with cheese and ham, potato wedges, and a salad with some wine.

We went to Warringah Mall for lunch. Had Super Spuds which are stuffed baked potatos. I had a Mexican one which was real nice. Eric had to go be late for a meeting, so I stayed at the mall and had a look around. In one shop, I saw Levi’s for betwwen $115-$125. Outrageous!!!! We got my pictures developed and then went to the school and scanned them.

Went to Dave’s house. Met Trish, Georgia, and Riley. The kids are darling!! We had a real nice visit with Dave. And we ate an Indian Curry that night for supper Beef Madras and Lamb Khorma and saffron rice, popardums and naan. And I tried a Melbourne Bitter beer. It was good, but I really think I liked the Toohey’s better.

October 24, 1997

Another Pizza party at Eric’s school!! This one for Lachlan. Ben and Matthew were there. After the pizza party, we went back to the classroom and Matthew and I started a game of Uno. Ben and I then played two games of Uno and he beat me both games!!! After the boys left, Eric and I had a walk up and down the street. He had a meeting when we got back, so I went to the library and played with the cable modem!! It is soooooooo fast!!!!!!

We went to a few shops and looked around a little bit. Then had an ice cream at Manly corso.

Went to Freda and Wal’s for dinner. Met Lyn, Scott, Kerry, and Michael. We had a Steamboat!!!! It was delicious!!! There was a big fondue type dish with coals in the bottom to heat the chicken broth in the top. You took pieces of veal, pork, prawn, chicken, and steak, and put them in a little basket and placed it in the broth to cook. When they were done, you put them over rice and added a sauce of your choice and ate. The sauces we had were soy, apricot and mango, chilli and ginger, and satay. The food was delicious!!! We ate it with chopsticks, which fortunately came back to me.
